Rashid Pelpuo Slams Critics For Saying His Appointment As President Of AFPFPD Has Nothing To Offer




In an uncharacteristic fashion, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wa Central, Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpuo appeared to have lost his cool when he described a critic as one with low gumption.

According to him, it is unreasonable for anyone to expect that his new appointment must bring about development when such a portfolio does not come with any budget or funding to enable him embark on any developmental project, even though as he assumes his new position, he looks forward to see what comes out of the portfolio, going forward.

He likened his new portfolio as that of President Akufo-Addo’s as leader of the African Union.


He averred that such positions are nothing but just leadership roles that cannot bring about any direct benefits.

He berated the serial caller who phoned in on Home Radio during an interview to opine that the MP could not use his new position to help bring anything good to the constituency having failed to do much even in his previous appointments as a Minister of State.

He described the caller as an illiterate and one with low intellect.


He furthered that he was even surprised to hear same comments coming from another caller to the programme who, he the MP, believed appeared literate but could still think that way.

The MP was elected as President of African Parliamentarians Forum on Population and Development (AFPFPD).

The election took place at the General Assembly held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on June 23, 2022.

He made the comments on Radio MAK’s Daily Connect Monday evening, August 1, 2022.
