SNNIT LAUNCHES SEED CAMPAIGN TO EMPOWER INFORMAL SECTOR WORKERS. On August 30,2024, the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) kicked off Self-Employed Enrollment Drive (SEED) with a vibrant float through Wa, the capital of the Upper West Region. The campaign dubbed Operation- A-ton, aims to significantly increase enrollment among informal sector workers. The acting Deputy Corporate Affairs,  Manager of SSNIT, Victoria Gifty Abaidoo drew special attention to the success of SEED initiative since it's establishment in 2023. Self-employed workers has enrolled up to 100,000 She said.   SSNIT has put effort to familiarize with informal workers hence design the Operation A-ton initiative  offering them the opportunity to register and secure a reliable retirement income.
