It's here! The grand launch of #UMA2023



The 3rd edition of the popular and most branded Music Awarding Scheme in the upper west region, Upper west Music Awards (UMA) was duly launched yesterday,24 September 2023 at the Wa Inservice training center.
The launch was one of a kind which had a very good number of people in attendance, including Musicians, Music lovers, Media personals, the event's sponsors and other dignitaries.

The program was chaired by Mr. Ibrahim Muniru, the General Manager for Radio Mak with MC Nel Gee as the official MC.
The terms and conditions of the UMA 2023 were spelt out clearly to the audience and the general public as well, so every nominee that would like to be part of the 2023 edition have to log on to the their website www.upperwestmusicawards.com to download the form,read the terms and conditions carefully before filling and submission.

Therefore, musicians representing all the districts of the upper west region are encouraged to file their nominations to be part of the success story.

This year’s edition is themed 'Branding and Rebranding', and the organisers – Upper West Music Awards have promised an improved show.

"As a team, we believe in excellence, and we are not going to relent in our effort to ensure we have the very best of production, and certainly this year should be an improvement of what we have done in previous years,” the CEO for Echo Soundz Multimedia, Tuurosung Nuhu, stated.

This was after the Overlord of the Waala Traditional Area, Wa-Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV ordered their caning. It is alleged that the lady in question uploaded the video on social media on Sunday, May 29, 2022. The Waala Traditional Area constituted a by-law in late 2021, banning such practices after it was observed that leaking sex tapes had become normal amongst the youth in the area.
